Dried properly, it burns down to a fine grey ash with very little moisture to contend with, depending on the quality of your pipe which has a lot to do with gurgle & moisture content. Been enjoying the blend in a number of varied pipes incl uding two Savinelli "Bing's Favorite" long-stemmed Billiards, a couple of Brighams and a couple of other pipes I pulled from the rack from rotation. It presented in my tin as reddish brown, broken flakes, and the tin note is fermenting bread, yeasty, tangy, earthy, dark fruit leather, a little oat-y, and pungent for a VA.
